Review: Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion @ 6:36 PM
Hey all,
How was your Weekends?
Mine was great because I managed to get my hands on this product that I gonna do a small review on...
which is the INNISFREE MINERAL MELTING BB CUSHION!
First of all,
many of you should have heard about BB cushion or cushion foundation because many asian cosmetic brands have been releasing their own BB cushions. I've heard a lot about the LANEIGE BB cushion below:
and also the ETUDE HOUSE one :
But apparently I bought the Innisfree one because I heard it is one of the cheapest for BB cushion and Innisfree left a good impression when I first visited their Ngee Ann City outlet so I always wanted to go there.
This BB cushion is not the first product I purchased from Innisfree. My first set of product that I purchased was the Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask Set:
The mask set is pretty useful in the sense that it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and whitened which I was quite surprised to see after the first use. I use it once every two weeks. The smell is quite decent for the 3 products in the set so don't worry if you have experienced terrible smelling masks like I did when I tried the LUSH Teatree masks which I wasted in the end. The smell was so bad that I couldn't even stand 1 second with it on my face and it burns my eyes everytime. I can assure you this mask set does nothing like that. Therefore I'm pretty satisfied with the mask set.
And so I decided to try another product from Innisfree and went ahead to purchase the BB cushion that they have.
I didn't have the chance to try other brands' BB cushion but first I will tell you my opinion on the Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion.
I bought it for S$34 at shade #02 Natural Beige.
The #01 and #03 shades were out of stock.
It is SPF50+/PA+++.
Contains Jeju green tea water to create dewy and clear skin.
5 in 1 multi functional product : Whitening + UV ray protection + Cooling + Sebum Control + BB cream
It looked just like any other BB cushion inside, with the air puff and cover that keeps the product from drying up inside. It's called BB CUSHION because of the sponge inside that is soaked with the BB cream and you will need to use the puff provided to press into the sponge and get the product. I've heard people tried applying the product using a foundation brush or fingers and all did not work out as flawless as using the air puff.
The air puff is very soft and smooth which is responsible for the flawless application.
To be honest,
I did felt the cooling effect when I applied the BB cushion on my face.
However, depending on your own preference,
the dewy effect may not be to everyone's liking because it may look greasy/shiny instead.
For me, I think that a little loose powder will do the trick but it may not completely mattify your face for long especially in Summer and of course in Singapore where the weather is hot and humid.
But if you are like me, you don't mind the dewy/ shiny look then there's no reason why not to try this product.
Another thing I like to throw it out there is that the smell of the product may not be to everyone's liking as well....
It has this scent that is similar to their face cleansing tissue which I got as a free gift the other time and though it is not unpleasant, the smell is kinda strong, like 7/10. Personally, I don't mind the smell because it is quite nice and smells like nature. However, I've read reviews by someone that says the herbal scent is very strong and unpleasant. I disagree that the scent is herbal because from what I know, herbal scents are bitter and unpleasant to the nose but this product doesn't smell that way. But I respect that everyone has their own preferences to different scents.
I think the coverage of the product is quite good (7/10), I only applied a little bit on my face and it did the job of evening out my skin tone which is a plus.
However, I did felt a little greasy and heavy after a few hours despite the thin layer I've applied although it looked pretty nice on my face.
After the application, it gives a powder finish but after a while, it started to feel a little bit sticky but not to the extent that my hair got stuck to my face. I've had it on for about 5 - 6 hours and it stayed intact the whole time which show that it's pretty long lasting and that's when I DID NOT apply a layer of loose powder or any bronzer/blush so just purely the product itself.
Overall , I'm very happy with this product so far but I might try out other BB cushion when I have the $ and time to get them. Then, I will compare those with the Innisfree one.
There are many reviews out there for other brands BB cushion so do check them out if you plan on getting one yourself.
Talk to you guys again soon :)
