90's Grunge @ 8:20 PM

Hey yall.
You must be here to find out more about 90's Grunge fashion.
Honestly, I am not an expert on fashion in any way but I will share with you guys what I know about the OH SO 'FAMOUS' 90's Grunge fashion.

First of all,
you may ask:
Why is it called 90's Grunge?

Grunge fashion is believed to have originated in the United States in the early 1990s. Likely beginning in Seattle, Washington, the fashion came out of the financial hardships of the times, combined with the regional growth of alternative rock music made popular by bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

The style combines elements of punk mixed with inexpensive working class clothing, like jeans and plaid fabrics. The development of grunge also brought back the ripped and shredded clothing popular during the early 1980s.

At its height, grunge was in many ways a rejection of the capitalist excesses of the 1980s, but the style was quickly picked up by designers and turned into a well-known fashion trend.

Yeap I basically copied the above explanation from http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-grunge-fashion.htm LOL

If you want to know more (which I doubt so), feel free to read it up online.

So what is the signature or main fashion elements when it comes to 90's Grunge?

From what I know, the most important part of the look is:
Flannels and ripped Denim!
(Hole-ly bf jeans that I was laughed at for wearing -,- )
Tops are usually graphic/band tees, matched with ripped jeans or denim shorts.
Outer wear is important because it is where the flannel comes in but of course denim or leather jackets are suitable alternatives.
Just mix and match the different textures and patterns and you can get different combi :)

(Don't just wear a checkered shirt. I doubt your creativity is that limited)

You can wear a beanie ( SG very Hot so not recommended) or a cap if you like but why not show off some beautifully styled hair?

For girls, if you are putting makeup, try to put on a slightly dark lips like berry/red or a nude lip colour.

For shoes, if you have a pair of Boots that you cannot find the right occasion or outfit to match with,
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!!!
Dr. Martens boots are popular choice for this look!
But not very important since you guys should be barefooted most of the time.
